Info From The Consumer Finance Protection Bureau

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) helps consumer finance markets work by making rules more effective, by consistently and fairly enforcing those rules, and by empowering consumers to take more control over their economic lives.

The CFPB works to give consumers the information they need to understand the terms of their agreements with financial companies. They work to make regulations and guidance as clear and streamlined as possible so providers of consumer financial products and services can follow the rules on their own.

Most recent changes include the replacement of the old HUD-1 with the new Closing Disclosure Form.
